Today we released an updated version of Snap.com which included the following new or changed features:

  • User Contributed Ratings: a way for Snap Users to "judge" any result for any search as either "Perfect" or "Junk." Meant to be used when a site is clearly the 'perfect site for that search' (e.g. nasa.gov to 'NASA' search) or when you find results that REALLY don't belong in the list. Will help the Snap ranking system "learn" what's good and bad even faster than it does today;
  • Added a "Site Management" page under the Help Section which explains how YOU can update/fix wrong/updated site previews, remove your site from the previews altogether, and, best of all, ADD your site to our index (coming soon!);
  • "Settings" menu in the upper right corner of any results page. So far, it only lets you turn off the Keyword Suggestions that dynamically display as you type, but we'll be adding more useful preferences here in the future;
  • Some enhancements to our Feedback form so we can better categorize all the types of useful feedback we get from you, and also to let you rate your search experience;
  • "Open in new window" icon/link in each result listing, to let you more easily open results in a new window instead of having to move your mouse over to the "New Window" button in the right, above the preview. (Remember, you can always hit the "Enter" key on your keyboard to open a result in a new window!);
  • When using our ActiveX control in IE to view results "fully-enabled" in the right pane, a new 'lock' icon will show under it when you're viewing a secure web page;
  • Various bug fixes.
