Today we released an updated version of Snap which included the following new or changed features:

  • Added graphics and text to promote our IE and Firefox plugins. These little tools, also found here, help make Snap instantly accessible when you want to search;

  • Removed a link from the homepage for a survey that had ended. Thanks to all who provided great feedback via this survey. We do have others running, which you might see as you use Snap; please take a few moments and help us out by completing those if you have the chance;

  • A minor fix to make the search box more compatible with Firefox 1.0;

  • Minor cosmetic changes you probably won't notice;

  • Numerous backend changes that don't affect the UI;

  • Various bug fixes.

We're starting a big push to focus on boosting speed and performance of the web site, so in future Release Announcements you'll probably hear me talking more about backend speed improvements that don't affect the UI. However, we are still working on front-end improvements every day, so keep your suggestions and feedback coming (use the form accessible from any Snap.com page) and let us know how we can make Snap better for you.

Are you still going to be announcing the winner today?

Where is the webcast?

What is going on with the contest?

The last thing I expected to see on here today was a general news announcement like the above, that doesn't even mention the contest inside of it?

I re-read the above announcement twice, and didn't see one mention of the contest, or anything else. I think everyone here today, is waiting to see if you are or aren't going to announce the winner today.

Sincerely Yours,
Bitpower

Bitpower,

We are going to be posting the blog video today, as mentioned in our post previous to the holiday weekend, there are only so many times we can post on this before its counter productive. Once again please be patient, we will be posting the video and blog entry today. Thanks again for your interest!

PS> By the way, this post has nothing to do with the contest, its our release notes, so in future, please be aware as to where you post your questions. Although we are a small company, we still do have various groups that handle each type of feedback and/or comments. I appreciate your understanding.

Thanks,
Jason.

Okay, I apologize if I seemed a bit impatient.

Its just I been hitting my "refresh" button on my browser all day, looking for news about the contest. When I saw a post made by one of your staff members, I immediately read it, thinking it would be about the contest. And I was a little disappointed when I saw it wasn't about the contest, so I posted my comments here. I probably should of kept my mouth shut. I guess sometimes it can be a little difficult to stay patient, when you invest a lot of time and hard work into a contest. So I apologize again if I seemed impatient.

Sincerely Yours,
Bitpower
