This is a momentous occasion for Snap, as we have just launched a major upgrade to Snap Preview Anywhere.

As we have mentioned in our comments on many of your own blog posts, we have been listening to feedback and largely based upon what many have said, we have published some major enhancements to Snap Preview Anywhere.

So…what do we have in store for you? Drum roll please…

Snap Link Icon (SLI)
We have always wanted to include an icon denoting the SPA behavior on links. Due to the variety of implementation methods to make this happen we opted to wait and spend more time doing research on it. I am pleased to say that its now available to anyone who is a SPA publisher. In addition to adding an icon to denote the SPA behavior on links, we have also listened to end users and site publishers and provided three (3) states that can be customized to ‘trigger’ SPA.

Snap Link Icon Trigger States:

  1. Link Only (Current)
  2. Link + Icon
  3. Icon Only

Advanced Builder
Another great feature that we have always had in our product vision is to highly customize the ‘preview’ bubble. The Advanced Builder page will now enable any SPA publisher the ability to customize the appearance and behavior of the ‘preview’ bubble in great detail.

As a publisher you are now able to…

  1. Select a ‘Bubble’ Color Theme
  2. Add a Site or Publisher Logo
  3. Select Link and Icon Link ‘Trigger’ Behavior
  4.   a. Link Only
      b. Link + Icon
      c. Icon Only

  5. And more advanced options…

Opt-In Blog Badge
For those publishers who want to give SPA a chance, but who want to give their readers a choice in the decision, I dedicate this one to you all! Yes, we now have the ability to enable publishers to let their users and readers opt-in to SPA by choice!

New Signup Design
Last but definitely not least, we have revamped the entire publisher registration and code delivery process to make it more clear for ‘non-programming’ types. We want to make it as easy as possible for anyone to use the product…

As is obvious from this recent release, we are committed to making SPA a useful feature for both the site owner and end user. Rest assured that all viewpoints have been, and will continue to, inform the ongoing development of this product. We really do care what you think and want to make SPA better and better everyday, so please share your thoughts in the comments.

Thanks again!

Good response to those that don't like it …

Ok, so I setup your Opt-in Badge, which by the way I love. It would be nice though if once you Turned the Previews on that you could turn them off. Also, it seems to be kind of weird, I can turn previews on and then it's like they are on forever. I can close the browser and reopen and the badge will show that the previews are off, but I still get them. I have to go to Snap.com and help/faq and then click to disable the previews. After that I have to close my browser and reopen before the previews stop. Is there are fix out for this?

So how can I style the "Snap Link Icon" so the href's text-decoration doesn't extend under the icon?

Ok, these are deadly cool. But I seem to have problems with getting them to work with my site - I have migrated to the new blogger interface and guess there's something more to do than just adding the code before the tag.

Can anyone help me with this??
