This past week Snap was a guest presenter at the honored Apple World Wide Developer Conference in San Francisco (June 11th – 15th, 2007). Snap was represented by Mike Agostino (CTO) and Jason Fields (Product Evangelist, Emerging Technology), and they jointly presented on the challenges in developing cross platform AJAX applications, including Webkit. The session was primarily focused on how Snap as an organization, gained nascent knowledge in the AJAX development process, that helped in making Snap.com and in turn, Snap Shots, more efficient and fluid in cross platform/web browsing experiences (including support for Webkit). It filled to capacity very quickly (over 800+ people sitting and standing!) and was rumored to have elements of both the Yahoo! and Google user centered design teams in attendance. We wanted to thank Apple (and our friend George in particular) for inviting us to speak at the WWDC 2007 on development of cross platform AJAX apps, and hope that anyone who attended the session learned something from our presentation. I was told that an audio podcast of the presentation should be available to Apple Developer Connection (ADC) members, and the conferences paid attendees via the iTunes Store at some point soon. Will keep you posted! |
