I patiently waited in line to get my iPhone and last week reported that FedEx dropped the units when they came in. After about 3 hours of standing in line (some people were there since that Tuesday [see previous post]) I was able to get mine. At exactly 6:45pm I walked out of the Pasadena Apple Store doors and went home to activate it… Let me just say that it meets and exceeds the hype!

After about a week and a half of using it heavily every day, including on my camping trip over the July 4th holiday weekend… I have a few things that I want to see Apple improve upon… Here is my list in NO particular order…

  • Typing: Copy/Select/Paste Text (from anywhere to anywhere)
  • Bluetooth: Bluetooth File Exchange (for Photos/Ringtones)
  • Photos: Add Photo Albums (and Assign Photos to Albums)
  • Auto Recognition: Phone Number/Email Address/Physical Address Recognition in 'Notes' App
  • Mapping: Select FWY or Surface Street Alternate Routes
  • Contacts: Edit Contacts in Email 'Send' Mode
  • Attachments: Send Email with Multiple Attachments (ex. Photos)
  • Attached Files: Support More… (ex. Keynote, PPT)

Needless to say I still LOVE the thing and continue to be amazed by its simplicity and functionality. I have created a 'Note' to keep track of all of my User Experience issues and at some point send them on to my friends at Apple… More first hand user experience oversight as I capture and note it…
