Greetings. This add-on sounds like a great addition.

Unfortunately, after installation of add-on to…

Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; PPC Mac OS X Mach-O; en-US; rv:1.8.1.4) Gecko/20070515 Firefox/2.0.0.4 (Running on OS X 10.4.10)

…and after necessary relauch, it completely hung Firefox.

My first thought was that I'd been impatient, that necessary and additional resources were needing to be cached, so after restart, I tried again. But after 15 minutes of a locked Firefox, I presumed the above was not the case.

Any insight as to what might be the issue?

Comments: I like snapshots, use the widget on all my blogs. One irritating problem though: when snapshots is on while I am editing then strange things happen including links getting broken and other annoying stuff. So I leave snapshots off when I am editing my blogs.

However, for me, in the latest widget-based version, the disable function does not work. I turn it off, refresh the page, and it remains active. This issue does not apply to the earlier versions of snapshots, where the able/disable function works fine.

Any ideas?

Are there plans for snap to work under the https protocol? My site is https and when I include the script I get: "The page contains secure and non-secure items. Do you want to display?" This is annoying. Of course, if I change my snap script path to https… then snappy no workie. :)

Heya Cajebo,

We have received a number of comments to this fact, and although myself and our Q&A folks have not been able to replicate the instance here on our systems, we are polling some of our outside resources to assist in figuring this out.

Thanks again for your comments on this and detailed account to assist us in addressing this issue. As soon as we have any more details on this, I will post a comment here on the blog.

Best regards,

Heya BX,

This is something that our product group has been in discussion about. The issue is that our systems are not set up to interface with any certificates on each persons browser to identify the user is logged into a said HTTPS site and/or what dynamically generated content may be delivered to that user.

Its basically a privacy issue and we take any/all issues as such very seriously. At this point there is not a solution that would be in sync with our privacy Terms of Service and /or end users privacy concerns, so we have opted to not support this at this time.

Thanks for your comment though!

Best regards,
