Some of the biggest players in the Internet descended on the New York Hilton this week for OMMA, the Online Media, Marketing & Advertising show, and Snap was right there with them.

After two grueling days of presenting Snap Shots to hundreds of attendees and meeting quite a few Snap Shot site owners, two things stood out:

  • two other companies exhibiting, including Ballihoo.com and another BIG company we can't yet name, are using Snap Shots
  • a number of people, generally skeptical at first, said "Snap Shots is the most exciting thing here!" which, given the other attendees, was a HUGE compliment

In all, we were so busy that we hardly had time to take pictures, but here are few. Also, a special shout-out to Chase Billow of TarheelForum.com who not only drove hours to attend, but even volunteered to help set up when he saw that we weren't quite ready.

Hey guys! Sorry for not coming on here and commenting earlier. I've been so busy between school and my many projects. A friend of mine was Googling my name for fun and found this. I actually signed up a couple weeks ago to be able to comment but only now have finally gotten around to logging in lol.
Anyway, I wanted to thank you guys first - thanks to Paul and everyone else I met at the OMMA booth (sorry, but I don't remember names ha). Thanks for the jacket, the t-shirt, the pen and I forget what else I got, but I really got treated there. I'd post some pictures of me and the jacket, but I don't have a camera right now. Just so everyone knows, these guys gave me this reallllly nice columbia zip-up fleece that has really come in handy lately. It had to have been expensive, so I really appreciate it. To me, it's characteristic of the culture you guys seem to have at Snap.
I also wanted to thank you for the mention of my site. Since the blog article I've had more snap bots on there than I can count lol.

The implementation of ads in Snap is a great idea - for both Snap and Google and I'm sure it'll be a good source of revenue, as well as an incentive for webmasters to use snapshots.
I do have a small suggestion since I'm here, and it just has to do with the size of the snapshots themselves. With the ads, the snapshot has gotten a little bulkier. To reduce this, I think the padding around the website shot could be deleted. The bar along the bottom of the snapshot could also get thinner - which I think could not only help reduce the size of the shot, but also make the shot look more "streamlined" and aesthetically pleasing overall. I also think the shot of the website itself could be less square. A rectangular shape (more horizontal than vertical) could help reduce size as well as add to the aesthetics.
Sorry, but I figured since I was here, I might as well go ahead and get my suggestions in. I know you guys are always open to opinions and are always trying to make snapshots better.

Again, I apologize for not commenting on here earlier but I didn't forget your generosity and I always have Snap in mind - even if I haven't logged in here in a long while. Take care everyone and thanks again.

- Chase
