Today is a very happy day for the Snap team as we celebrate Snap Shots's first anniversary.

What began as a link preview service (Snap Preview Anywhere) that was created in order to spread the word of Snap.com (our search engine), became one of the world's fastest growing ad networks, where user-demanded content combined with “Hypercontextual” ads deliver more valuable information.

Here are the highlights of what we have accomplished during the past 12 month:

• On the first day, 52 sites were using the service and a little over 7500 Shots were served. Today, over 2 million web sites are using it and we serve over 15MM Shots daily.
• Major publishing platforms are offering the product pre-installed on users' blogs - Wordpress.com, Xanga.com, LiveJournal.com and Vox.com.
• Snap Shots offers 11 different types including Preview, Wiki, Video, Audio, Photo, RSS, Profile, Product, Movie, Stock and Map.
• Snap Shots are available in 43 languages thanks to a great job done by many volunteers.
• We developed browser plug-ins for Internet Explorer, Firefox and Safari, so users could take Snap Shots with them to any web site. Over 250,000 people have download the plug-ins so far.
• We modified the product along the way based on users' and publishers' feedback. We added many customization options to allow publishers and end-users better control over the experience.
• Snap Shots can now be used not only as a way to enhance users experience but also as a revenue generator for site owners. Last week we launched Snap Shares, a new program that helps Snap Shots publishers earn more money from their blog/website using Snap Shots.
