We recently updated our Trike Flying site to a new "social networking" format. As part of the re-design, we jumped on the opportunity to utilize Snap.com across the site.

Our unique aircraft are similar to motorcycles with wings, and most all enthusiasts create photos and videos of their adventures. With Snap technology incorporated into our site, our visitors are now able to preview the content of all the video and slideshows without the need to even click through. With thousands of media sources to choose from at social.trikepilot.com, this has made the site infinitely easier to navigate.

We utilize Snap on our front page, which features an overview of our content, including videos, photos, blog entries, a forum, and news section. We are hosted on the Ning Platform and Snap works well with their underlying CSS-driven page formatting. We have not found any conflicts or bugs to date. Installing the Snap tool was as simple as pasting in the code snippet and activating the feature in Firefox. A no-brainer even for any of our non-technical viewers.

One of my personal favorite results from utilizing Snap on our site was discovered by accident. We regularly give podcast interviews to Ultraflight Radio and post links to the interviews on our site. It was a pleasant surprise to discover that our visitors could now listen to the entire podcast through the Snap preview window instead of having to leave our site!
