Title: Senior Web Developer

Position Purpose:
This person will be an instrumental part of Snap’s development team designing and implementing different components on the Snap Shots web service. The Snap Shots web service is used by over 1 million blogs and 2 million people every day. This person will develop new features for Snap Shots using PHP, Javascript, and HTML on the Linux platform. Candidates with extensive experience in web development and backend systems for highly scalable consumer Internet sites are preferred. This person will be working closely with other senior software engineers.

Accountabilities:
• Design and develop web applications using PHP, HTML, and Javascript

• Learn new technology quickly and thoroughly

• Work with engineers and project managers on creating new features

• Design and implement new, large systems with minimal direction

Requirements/Qualities:
• Must have a minimum of 3 years experience in software development in a professional development environment

• Desire to create world-class products that have impact in the blogsphere

• Must have experience in developing complex, high capacity websites using the following technologies: Linux, PHP, Perl, Javascript, CGI, HTML, Apache, MySQL and database design skills (including table construction, layout, etc.)

• Must be able to communicate and work with both technical and non-technical people

• Extensive experience in development of the back-end for highly scalable consumer web sites.

• B.S. degree in Computer Science, Applied Mathematics, or Engineering required.
