Job Description:
Snap is looking for a Marketing Director who will conceive and execute Snap’s marketing and communication efforts to build awareness of Snap’s services and support business development and ad sales which in concert drives revenues.

Responsibilities:

  • PR and Promotions – Go beyond writing the press release. Conceive and execute interesting, informative PR strategies including events and speaking engagements that reach key influencers in blogosphere and advertising industry. Maximize contributions by working with outside PR firms. Develop promotions that support publisher acquisition and retention.
  • Website and Marketing Collateral Messaging – Define and write / direct copywriting
  • Blog and Social Media Tools – Grow awareness through contemporary tools such as our blog, Facebook and LinkedIn groups, Twitter and the like.
  • Newsletter Communications to Publisher Partners – Define and execute using bulk e-mail software.
  • Tradeshows – Manage Snap’s presence at key online marketing and Web 2.0 type shows.
  • Business Development and Sales Support – Sweat over crafting and communicating our story including defining materials that support BD and Sales.
  • Sponsorships / Advertising – Identify and manage appropriate sponsorships and targeted advertising.

The Marketing Director also will help with crafting internal communications to Snap team members.

Candidates need to have strong background in marketing and PR for an online business and will lead both strategic and tactical decisions and hands on execution. The Director will serve as marketing leader of the company.

Strategize, Plan, Execute, Analyze, Iterate all to budget.

Requirements:

  • Intelligence: We are looking for IMPACT players who can hold their own with a very bright team.
  • Drive: Not only do you have the horsepower but you gotta be willing to run full bore. You have to be someone who will make stuff happen and will overcome the obstacles that we are constantly presented with. We are looking for someone who is a self-starter and can turn over every rock to find the resources needed to get the job done. Must be able to work proactively toward delivering the marketing initiatives necessary to achieve company goals, without an exact roadmap.
  • Communication Skills: We need an extrovert to balance the rest of us. The Director needs to have superior written communication skills.
  • Creativity: Needs to be able to creatively approach problems and solve those using limited resources.
  • Positive/Can-do Attitude.

All the other stuff:

  • Experience: candidate must have 6+ years marketing experience with specific experience in web including online advertising, social media, or ad networks.
  • Planning: We hate fire drills and poorly thought through programs. Candidate must be both personally and departmentally well-organized, able to lead cross-department team to plan and launch products. Requires a combination of strategic/creative thinking.
  • Management and Execution: Sweating the details - proven ability to manage all components of marketing plans in a highly dynamic business. Requires willingness to sweat the details and hold one self and others to high standards.
  • Metrics and Analysis: Strong ability and comfort with analytical techniques to evaluate and optimize performance.

Educational Requirements:
BA in a related field, MBA desirable.

Reporting Relationship:
Reports to VP Products and Operations.
