THIS POSITION HAS BEEN FILLED

Snap is looking for a hands-on Manager of Product Development to lead its software engineering team in delivering innovative Snap Shots products.
Reporting Relationship: Reports to Chief Technology Officer

Responsibilities

1) Make Snap successful.
2) Grow and manage a high performance, experienced software engineering team that delivers new Snap Shots products and features.
3) Create new tools that allow customization and provisioning by Snap’s publishing partners and Snap’s operations team.
4) Develop tools and scripts to speed development of new products
5) Work with senior members of the engineering team to ensure technical design is consistent with Snap’s architecture and is of high quality.
6) Liaison with business development and product management to ensure new publisher and content partner deployments are successful.
7) Plan and schedule execution of product engineering efforts making appropriate trade-offs in time, quality and budget.

Requirements / Qualities

1) Track record of success in dynamic, small group or company environments.
2) High energy with strong work ethic and commitment.
3) Ability to collaborate with others in an ego-less manner to get the right answer.
4) Experience in successfully managing engineers and projects.
5) Strong communication skills, particularly in managing team and communicating technical matters to non-engineer stakeholders.
6) Ability to develop simple tools and scripts using Linux, Apache, Mysql, Perl, PHP, Python, and XML.
7) 5 years experience in software with at least 1.5 years as a technical lead or development manager. Experienced in the product development life cycle requirements gathering, specification, documentation, testing, release, and maintenance. Familiar with CVS and Bugzilla or other mainstream version control and bug tracking packages.
8) BS in Computer Science or Computer Engineering preferred
